Country walk/hiking

The forests of the Vecquée, of La Marchandise and of 'l'Abbaye (abbey) consists of tree forest areas which are managed by the "Division de la Nature et des Forêts" (DNF). The forest of the Vecquée stretches out on 673 ha and is limited in the north by the city of Seraing, in the east by the village of Boncelles, in the south by the "route du Condroz" and in the west by forest of Neuville. La Marchandise, which stretches out on 86 ha these days, is the remainder of a huge forest area which carried the name "Bois du Ban" for no less than 800 years. The forest of l'Abbaye, as its name indicates, was property of the Cistercian abbots of Val Saint-Lambert from the 13th to the end of the 18th century. Today, there remains still 75 ha of it.
