A 20 km bike ride combining archaeological discovery and history in Wallonie Picarde, a vast tourist region in the west of the Hainaut.
Go back in time along the roads of Wallonie Picarde: the Roman era of the Aubechies Archéosite to the Renaissance and Beloeil castle. We cross the centre of Aubechies, one of the Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia, a village that exemplifies Hainaut architecture from the last century. It is a quaint little village, with its Romanesque church and the Saint-Géry tavern.
The points-noeuds network avoids the major road networks, and that's a great thing. Using small country roads we reach the French-style gardens of Beloeil Castle, one of the most beautiful in Belgium. A domain that lies close to the Blaton-Ath canal, which we will follow all the way to Huissignies, where we can visit the Museum of Rural Life.
Country roads and RAVeL along towpaths.
A 20 km route, with no great challenges, along country roads. Please be careful, however, when crossing the N roads with children. The signposting is excellent.
