Maison Particulière, a private art centre in Brussels, is the result of personal initiative by a couple of collectors, Myriam and Amaury de Solages.
In the heart of Brussels, a stone's throw from the Place du Châtelain, a former mansion has been converted into an unusual space where art can be displayed in an original way.
There's no permanent collection in this art centre. Three displays a year unite four collectors and an artist around one theme. Freedom of choice is the magic word.
Each collector and artist chooses to display a selection of works from their own collection. This deeply personal approach allows everyone to express a different point of view, just like the choices of texts assembled through a passion for literature.
By bringing about different readings of the works and correspondences between them, the Maison Particulière's approach allows for enrichment through the range of sensibilities.
