MADmusée - Art museum in Liège
The MADmusée is located in Liège. Discover the permanent works or one of the temporary exhibitions from mentally disabled artists.
The MADmusée possesses a heritage of global interest, bordering on 2200 pieces covering all sorts of genres from painting, drawing, sculptures, engraving or even textile creation.
Today, the MADmusée has a close relationship with two other Belgian museums which also work with outsider art - the Dr Guislain Museum in Ghent and the art(&)marges museum in Brussels.
The MADmusée promotes the work of mentally disabled artists, who usually work in a workshop context. Since its creation in 1998, the MADmuseum has carried out in-depth work into research and education to enrich its permanent collection, design temporary exhibitions, organise a documentation centre and communicate and raise awareness in as wide an audience as possible.
The MADmusée is currently closed for restoration works.
During this period of closure the MADmusée will offer exhibitions outside of its walls. Don't hesitate to check the calendar on their website.
