These days, the postman does his tour in less than half a day! And in the past? What were the dangers of his profession? His means of defence? Since when does the post exist? Why is the horn the symbol? How did they disinfect the mail in times of epidemics? The Museum answers these questions and many others. For the moment this is the only evidence of the history of the postal service in the French speaking part of Belgium.
You will also admire those instruments that were necessary to create messages: pens, feathers, penholders, inkpots, calligraphies and various machines retracing the history of writing.
From 3300 BC until today, two interesting aspects in the history of humanity unveil themselves for you...
