The Museum of Ribbon traces the history of the ribbon industry since the 13th century in the town of Comines in Belgium.
This exceptional museum, a genuine workshop proposes a visit to go and meet the old Comines ribbon weavers, "les Bleus Vintes".
At the Museum of Ribbon, you will have the opportunity to admire a collection of old textile looms and masterpieces, including the oldest dating back to 1700.
And, if you wish, you can see how they function. Just ask the ribbon master.
At the museum you will also discover display cases exhibiting shuttles, multicoloured ribbon samples, historical documents and tools and machines used for the preparation and completion of ribbon.
Preparation for your visit
Tuesday to Friday from 9am to 11.30am and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
Closed on public holidays.
Open for groups by appointment.
Guided tours available from 1 May to 31 October on Saturdays at 3pm and Sundays at 10.30am.
Children 6-12 years old and persons with reduced mobility: 1€/pp
Free for children 0-6 years old.
Groups with 25 people max: €3 pp + €20 per guide.
Guided tours: €2/pp
Visits with educational activities: €1/pp
Set price of €20 for a guide for a minimum of 20 people.
Free of charge for children under 6 years.
