At the heart of Hesbaye in Belgium, this natural park is the ideal spot for holidays and environmentally-friendly tourism.
The Natural Park of the Valleys of the Burdinale and of the Mehaigne is spread over the communes of Braives, Burdinne, Héron and Wanze in the province of Liège. It includes 23 villages in over 11,000 hectares of protected land.
Events and activities close to nature
In the natural park, you can take part in numerous events dedicated to regional gastronomy such as the Local Produce and Nature Market on the first Friday of the month, the Bread Beer Cheese Weekend during the third weekend in August, and the Apple and Pear Festival on the third Sunday in October.
You can visit the Pitet Plant Garden, a heritage garden with a collection of around 250 plants in the Natural Park. Don't miss the Plant Festival organised in the third weekend in June.
If you like a stroll or are a keen hiker, there are signposted walking routes or, if you prefer, you can take part in a guided walk or a discovery day.
