If you love Belgian chocolate, a visit to the Museum of Cocoa and Chocolate in Brussels is an absolute must.

This unique museum, just a stone's throw from the Grand Place, will transport you to the world of chocolate and show you its journey from the humble cocoa bean to the finished product.

Discover the history of chocolate: from Xocoatl, a spiced drink that the Mayans were very fond of, to the hot chocolate drinks that were enjoyed by the French courts.

Learn, through posters, videos, photos and a series of explanatory panels, how cocoa is grown and transformed into chocolate.

High point of the visit

Observe a demonstration by a master chocolatier who will reveal a few of the secrets of traditional artisan chocolate making.

But chocolate is not only for eating, discover also the chocolate-pots and antique cups, sculptures and even clothes made of chocolate!

All along the visit you'll be served samples of different types of chocolate, which you can then purchase at the museum shop.
