The history of art)&(marges
art)&(marges is a museum situated in the historic Marolles district in the centre of Brussels.
It showcases permanent and temporary exhibitions of works from outsider artists. The museum's philosophy is to promote and stand up for artists who remain in the shadows of the professional art world.
art)&(marges is a place of exchange, where individuality of an artist is celebrated, an art without margins.

Who are the "Outsiders"?
The outsiders are the self-taught artists working in isolation or in creative workshops for persons who are psychologically or mentally disabled.
Some are residents of homes for mentally disabled people, psychiatric hospitals, and others practise or have practised various occupations, such as photographer, second-hand good dealer, cobbler, musician...
art)&(marges is open Tuesday-Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
Closed on official public holidays and during the installation of an exhibition.
Children, students, groups of 10 people min., pensioners and JAP members: €2
Beneficiaries of "Article 27": €1.25
Guided visits and activities available by reservation.
Groups of 20 people max.
Languages: French, Dutch, English (+€12.50) and German (+€12.50)
Accessible for persons with reduced mobility.
