Do your children like to play adventurers? Send them to climb Charleroi's slagheaps with a nature guide. An original experience!
Today, Charleroi's slagheaps are greenbelts which brighten up the city's countryside. They are home to exceptional flora and fauna.
Go and climb them with your children, led by a nature guide. To make the most of it, little adventurers should kit themselves out with their boots, binoculars and camera.
The joys of climbing a slagheap!
- Children from 6 to 12 years old love:
The adventurous aspect of the climb, observing the migrating birds, the insects, the frogs and the wild flowers.
- Teenagers love:
The adventurous aspect of the climb, the panoramic point of view, plunging into the basin dating from the Carboniferous age, understanding the richness of our slagheaps, but also observing the flora and fauna.
Guided visits for individuals with a nature guide take place from April to October on fixed dates. They are free for children under 12 years old.
The complete programme is available on request from the Pays de Charleroi tourist office.
