Surprise your children with an educational and fun visit to a hospital founded in 1242, listed as a Belgian World Heritage Site.
New programme of activities for families
Afternoons with your family (15 March, 19 April, 31 May, the weekend of the 29 and 30 August, 25 October and 22 November), where you will be guided by a religious eccentric and a doctor, who is a tad too serious. Your children will discover more and surprises as the visit goes on. Bring your children to discover what life was really like in a 17th century hospital!
As part of "Afternoons with your family" scheme, your children will love trying out professions from the Middle Ages and centuries following, such as musician, narrator, doctor, alchemist, surgeon, apothecary, sorcerer or even an archer! Various professions are available in accordance with specific dates.
Children 6 to 12 years old
As part of "Afternoons with your family" scheme, they will love fun, themed activities, such as gastronomy, shows, history, fancy dress, games, heritage discoveries, Easter egg hunts, and even some Halloween activities to make you shiver.
All year round, from Tuesday to Sunday 2pm-6pm, children 5 to 8 years old and 9 to 12 years old will receive little adventure note books, enabling them to discover, whilst having a great time, aspects of this former hospital.
The bigger ones will be enticed by new technologies on display. In fact, they will be able to visit this fascinating area, smartphone in hand and with the help of an app specially tailored to the museum.
