Thousands of uniformed participants from several countries gather on the fields of Waterloo for a large historical reconstruction. From 17 to 21/06/15!

They will all be in period attire and will recreate the battle between the troups of Napoleon and those of Wellington and Blücher.

A re-enactment worthy of the event

The two re-enactments can count on the presence of more than 5000 foot soldiers, 300 cavalry and some 100 canons. A record number!

The site spans some 30 ha, in a venue full of history that can host up to 60000 spectators per event!

The participating groups will come from all over the world:

There is already talk of groups from Australia and new-Zealand. This shows the event's international reach. The bicentenary will take place over 5 days and will be preceded by a series of brand new events!

    On the menu

    • Inauguration of the Hougoumont farm on Wednesday 17/06/15.
    • Official celebration on 18/06/15. Presence of military bands from the belligerent countries of the period and the descendants of the principal belligerents.
    • 1st re-enactment on evening of Friday 19/06/15 based on the famous charge of Drouet d'Erlon. The participants' bivouacs are open to the public from 9am.
    • Nocturnal show by the Lion's mound on Saturday 20/06/15 at 11pm.
    • 2nd re-enactment on Sunday 21/06/15, concentrating on another phase of the battle, with the incorporation of life-size farms for a better understanding...
