Chamber Music Concerts at the Seneffe Castle Organgerie
Every summer the cream of Belgian soloists perform less played pieces, both brilliant and intimate. In Seneffe from 18/07 to 21/07/13.
This magical festival has taken place every summer for the past 18 years.
Violinist Véronique Bogaerts and Patricia Raes, the heart and soul of the festival, bring together the cream of Belgian soloists for the pleasure of hearing them play intimate or showy pieces together which are often too little performed.
Every year, magic happens in the magnificent orangery of the Château de Seneffe!
A masterpiece of chamber music
Without forgetting tradition, each edition brings something new. The first concert honours the extraordinary composer Mozart's Symphony Concertante, arranged by the composer for six instruments.
The second day offers an entirely female evening where female musicians have chosen to perform works only by female composers. Gentlemen are obviously still welcome in the audience.
"Opera tunes and tango" - Saturday afternoon sees the arrival of a newcomer to the festival: the accordion... A choice which isn't insignificant considering the second half includes much Piazzolla.
The festival closes with the excellent Danel Quartet who have been asked by the organisers to play Schubert's "Death and the Maiden"...
Just like 13 years ago... Nostalgic anyone?
