Understand all the aspects of a conflict that left Europe completely bloodied and weakened. Discover it in Brussels, from 26/02/14.

The history of the conflict has been revisited through a wider lens giving every actor of this drama his place.

The war and daily life in occupied Belgium constitutes an important part of the exhibition, but the public will also rediscover the mobilisation of the European countries that attempted to liberate Belgium, which had become a key element of the conflict.

Finally, through authentic objects, decors, witnesses' testimonies, multimedia installations, imersive films and spaces, visitors will discover the point when the war broke out and, to a wider extant, changed the course of the 20th century.

The aim of this exhibition is to raise awareness of the events of this European, then World, war, in a general public which has forgotten how history has shaped its life.

To reach this objective, the exhibition plays on emotions, by making the visitors realise that this history concerns him/her, that it's about his/her history and future.

The exhibition is, therefore, a meeting point between each person's history - history with a h - and History - with a H.

The event takes place during the centenary of the beginning of the First World War.

The exhibition is a Tempora creation, presented by the Museum of Europe and the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History.
