Discover an entirely free light show: light installations, performances and a winter barbecue. In Brussels in October 2014!
For this first edition, the Brussels Light Festival will take place along the banks of the canal, between the square Sainctelette and the place des Armateurs.
It's a magical moment in a glorious location: the Brussels Canal!
A 20 metre tall reconstruction of the leaning tower of Pisa, covered in thousands of coloured LED bulbs will stand at the entrance to the route.
As you walk along, the light arrangements and performances continue and the route ends with a pyrotechnics show.
The pyrotechnics show takes place twice per night, and is managed by a fireworks and pyrotechnics professional.
The route is entirely free.
What's more, the location isn't lacking in tourist attractions!
The avenue du Port is paved and very wide.
It is the last remaining industrial street of it's kind in Brussels and it has kept all it's major original characteristics.
From an architectural point of view, the location alone is worth a visit!
Thousands of m² of sand, "beach", stands and attractions that are very popular with the public.
The canal is perfectly suited to host such events, not only thanks to its architectural qualities, which the shows will emphasise, but also due to the effervescence of the location.
The Brussels Light Festival is organised by the Brussels-Capital Region and Brussels Mobility, with the support of the Ministre bruxelloise des Travaux Publics et des Transports et du Port de Bruxelles.
