Discover a comic book in resistance from former Yugoslavia, at the Belgian Centre of Comic Books in Brussels from 03/06 to 16/11/14!

In order to tackle such a vast subject, one of the finest comic book specialists, the Slovenian Stefan Simoncic, has been called upon.

In a region of Europe where traces of the civil war still exist, forming an overview of comic book creation in the six republics that Yugoslavia was previously made up of, becomes particularly difficult.

You will see for yourself that the precarious history of this European region is reflected in the exhibition. However, so many archives have disappeared over the years that it is now impossible to accurately determine the date of one specific section on display.

However, particularly when observing the materials on which the designers have worked, you will see how many works successfully survived through hardships, including when there was a lack of paper.

You may be shocked that comic books created in Bulgaria, Albania and Greece, all Balkan countries that too formed part of former-Yugoslavia, will not be part of the collection.

The exhibition designers thought that the different fate of the Albanians, Bulgarians and the Greeks during the 20th century had lead to a different production of that which occurred between Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Skopje (Republic of Macedonia).
