Belgian Ladies Open Arlon - International Ladies Judo Competition
Admire close to 450 judokas, of all ages and nationalities, at this international competition. In Arlon, in February 2015!
They come from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Belgium, etc. but also from countries from around the world like USA, Cuda, Canada and even Japan!
This competition that is unique in Belgium takes place over 2 days: the first day is dedicated to judokas under 20 years of age and the second for the over 20s.
The competition takes place first in groups, then as a knockout competition, which guarantees each participant at least three matches in the early stages.
Coaches and participating federations particularly appreciate this approach.
It also enables us to gauge the level of each competitor over several matches, not just one.
The Arlon Open is a high level competition. Numerous athletes who have competed at the Arlon Open have gone on to stand on the podium of international tournaments and competitions, even the Olympic games.
Charline Van Snick, Priscilla Gneto, Acosta Bermoy, Kertin Thiele and Idalys Ortiz all won medals at the London 2012 Olympics, having previously stood on the podium at the Arlon Open.
