Houtsiplou is a Belgian brasserie with a family atmosphere on place Rouppe in Brussels, not far from the famous "Comme Chez Soi" restaurant.
Houtsiplou showcases the most traditonal Belgian specialities, such as mussels with chips, meatloaf, stoemp and regional beers. Their delicious 'big hamburgers' are well worth the visit.
What is Houtsiplou?
In Belgium 'Houtsiplou' is a reference to an imaginary place. However, Houte-Si-Plou is a locality which does indeed exist in the province of Liège.
At weekends, families flock to Houtsiplou. They are undoubtedly attracted by the colourful decor and the games and menu that children love so much.
Once inside, they'll marvel at the enormous mural that tells the story of Belgium with a good dose of humour.
In the summer, the owners open the large terrace. This allows the children to play happily close to their parents.
All year-round, except the 25th of December and the 1st of January.
The kitchens are open:
- Monday to Friday, from 12 noon to 2:30pm,
- weekends, from 12 noon to 3pm,
- evenings from 6pm to 10/30pm every day.
